Joel Munuve, the Member of County Assembly for Kariobangi North, has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital along Kiambu Road. His death was confirmed by Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Ken Ng'ondi.
Munuve, who secured his seat as an independent candidate during the 2022 general elections, reportedly began feeling unwell en route to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai shared that a friend, identified as Peter, was taking Munuve to town when he began experiencing discomfort.
"While on the way, he started complaining of pain, and unfortunately, he passed away right outside the hospital," Alai stated.
Details surrounding the cause of death are yet to be confirmed. The family and Assembly are expected to announce burial plans in due course. Munuve is remembered for his service to the Kariobangi North community, and tributes continue to pour in as colleagues and constituents mourn his passing.
