Residents of Tach Asis in Konoin, Bomet County, are reeling in disbelief after a man allegedly took the lives of his two young children in a chilling domestic tragedy.
The 35-year-old suspect, identified as Geoffrey Kipkemoi, is accused of using a kitchen knife to fatally attack his children, aged 2 and 7. Their bodies were later found placed inside the family’s kitchen.
According to police reports, the children’s mother was away at the time of the incident. Upon returning home, she reportedly noticed bloodstains and followed the trail, only to be confronted by a horrifying scene. She quickly informed the authorities.
Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga confirmed the incident and stated that officers had secured the scene and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
The children’s bodies were transported to the Kapkatet Hospital Mortuary, where postmortem examinations will be carried out as investigations continue.
The motive behind the alleged killings remains unclear, leaving the community in shock and demanding justice.
